Over the past year, ZHGAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd.), supported by the CAS Institute of Engineering Thermophysics and the Anhui Chaohu Economic Development Zone Management Committee, forged ahead with unwavering determination to advance coal gasification technology.
1. Securing EPC Qualifications
In February 2019, ZHGAS obtained the Grade III Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Construction General Contracting Qualification and Work Safety Permit. In August, it earned the Class B Design Qualification for Chemical, Petrochemical, and Pharmaceutical Industries, enabling full EPC turnkey operations. These credentials expanded ZHGAS’s capabilities and bolstered its market competitiveness.
2. Successful Acceptance of Guangxi Jinxin Pulverized Coal Furnace Retrofit
In April 2019, the retrofit of Level I and II heat exchangers for Guangxi Jinxin Chemical’s pulverized coal furnace passed quality inspections. This marked ZHGAS’s strategic entry into the alumina industry, paving the way for future technological expansion.
3. 2019 Team-Building Event
In June 2019, ZHGAS organized a team-building event at its Jiangsu Delong Clean Coal Gas Project site. Through a series of training sessions and project visits, employees gained a deeper understanding of the company’s core operations, current progress, and future goals. Additionally, the company planned outdoor games, team-building exercises, and other activities, enriching staff cultural life while strengthening team cohesion.
4. Inspection by Zhang Jiayuan, Deputy Party Secretary of CAS Institute of Engineering Thermophysics
During a July 2019 visit, Zhang Jiayuan, Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary of the CAS Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, commended ZHGAS’s rapid achievements and emphasized strict adherence to quality and safety standards for sustained growth.
5. ISO Triple Certification Renewal
In August 2019, ZHGAS renewed its ISO Triple Certifications (ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System),"This initiative has significantly elevated engineering and occupational safety management standards, enhanced product quality, environmental compliance, and enforcement of worker safety protocols, while marking a new level in ZHGAS’s standardized management practices."
6. Strategic Partnerships with Lime Industry Leaders
At the October 2019 China Lime Industry Technology Exchange Conference, ZHGAS showcased CGAS technology’s economic and environmental advantages for lime production, securing preliminary cooperation agreements with key industry players.
7. Overseas Breakthrough: Xiamen Xiangsheng Project Enters Installation Phase
By November 2019, the Xiamen Xiangsheng Oxygen-Enriched Gasification Project completed main structures construct and began equipment installation. This project marks ZHGAS’s debut in the international market and serves as a pivotal initiative in establishing its multinational operations.
8. China's First Thousand-Ton Scale Circulating Fluidized Bed Coal Gasification Unit Delivered
In December 2019, the Lanshi Jinhua 1,000-Ton Circulating Fluidized Bed Pressurized Coal Gasification Demonstration Project—the first demonstration initiative under the Hongguang Special Project for the industrialization of CGAS (Circulating Fluidized Bed Gasification) technology—was officially delivered. This marks China’s first application of clean, efficient CGAS technology in the synthetic ammonia industry and represents the nation’s inaugural low-rank pulverized coal circulating fluidized bed pressurized gasification demonstration project. As the industrialization platform for this initiative, ZHGAS will leverage this milestone to actively promote CGAS technology in the synthetic ammonia sector, offering innovative solutions to address the industry’s environmental challenges.
9. National High-Tech Enterprise Certification
December 2019 saw ZHGAS awarded the National High-Tech Enterprise title. This honor will further promote the company's independent innovation, independent research and development process, and will become another milestone in the history of the company's development.
10. Jiangsu Delong Project: No. 3 & 4 Gasifiers Successfully Ignited
In December 2019, the Jiangsu Delong Project achieved high-temperature kiln ignition for its third and fourth 4*80000 Nm3/h CGAS gasifiers, advancing toward full operational readiness.
11. Xinjiang Yihua Project Nears Commissioning
By December 2019, the Xinjiang Yihua Gasification Project completed pipeline integration, pressure testing preparations, and mechanical-electrical installations, entering final commissioning stages.
12. “Safest Contractor” Honor from Xinjiang Yihua

13. Guizhou Hongsheng Project Ready for Startup
In December 2019, the Guizhou Hongsheng Synthetic Ammonia Fixed-Bed Revamping Project concluded DCS debugging and defect resolution, achieving readiness for high-temperature kiln ignition and system startup.
14. 2019 Annual Conference & 2020 Spring Festival Gala
In January 2020, ZHGAS hosted its annual conference and gala in Chaohu. The annual meeting is divided into three chapters: the company's annual work summary, work reports by department heads, and the Spring Festival Gala, which present the highlights of the company's work this year through various forms and multiple dimensions.
